Women Empowerment
The Women Affairs and Gender Department comprises of two sections namely Women Affairs and Gender. The two sections complement each other as gender mainstreaming is a tool to achieve women empowerment.
Community Development
The Community Development Department focuses on empowering communities to be self-reliant, self-sustaining, resilient and prosperous.
SME Development
Promoting business linkages between MSMEs and Large Corporates and MSMEs to MSMEs
Cooperative Development
Developing sustainable Cooperatives through implementing policies, projects and programs.

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Finance
Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) play a major role in most economies, particularly in developing countries. SMEs account for the majority of businesses worldwide and are important contributors to job creation and global economic development. They represent about 90% of businesses and more than 50% of employment worldwide. Formal SMEs contribute up to 40% of national income (GDP) in emerging economies.
ZWL$500 million SMEs facility to boost productivity
PLAYERS in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises sector are expecting improved productivity following government’s announcement of a 500 million Zimbabwe dollar facility. The relaxation of lockdown measures have seen SMEs reopening with restored business confidence. Players in the sector, who met in Harare this Friday, spoke on their expectations of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) facility unveiled this Tuesday.
Zimbabwe: Zimra Targets 35 000 New Tax Paying SMEs
The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) is this year, once again, targeting to register at least 35 000 businesses in the small to medium enterprises (SME) sector as efforts intensify to increase revenue collections from the (SMEs) sector. This will ensure more businesses, especially in the largely informal SMEs sector, contribute towards the country's revenue collections.
